Hightstown wins two matches in home tri meet
The Hightstown High wrestling team won a pair of matches Monday in a home tri meet to up its record on the year to 6-3.
Hightstown defeated Hamilton, 50-25, behind upper weight falls from Franki Garcia, Chris Stavrou and Brenden Hansen. Elson Peralta had a nice win for Hamilton when he decisioned Liam O’Donnell, 8-4, at 165 pounds.
Hightstown also rolled over Steinert, 61-18. Stavrou had the quickest fall against the Spartans when he pinned in 42 seconds.
In other action, North Hunterdon crushed sister-school Voorhees, 61-18. North Hunterdon is ranked
No. 1 in the area and fifth in the state.
In a quad meet at Rancocas Valley, Seneca beat Holy Cross, 72-12 and Riverside, 82-0, but lost to host RV, 48-30.
