Richard D. Ettenger
Richard D. Ettenger, 89, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Virtua Voorhees Hospital, in Voorhees Twp, NJ. Born and raised in Trenton, he had lived in Crosswicks in the home that he built all of his adult life. He was a graduate of Trenton High School Class of 1951. Richard was a Navy and Army veteran and was a member and worked for the Local Carpenters Union #31 for 67 years. Richard was a lifetime member of the Crosswicks Fire Company #261 where he served as chief and commissioner, was a member of the Mt. Moriah Lodge #28 F & AM and was a volunteer at the Masonic Home in Burlington Township. He was an avid sportsman, was quite an accomplished baseball player and enjoyed the
outdoors including boating, hunting, camping and bowling.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years Nancy Lee Card Ettenger, his daughter and son-inlaw: Sherri and Mike Rajeski of Chesterfield and his son: Scott Ettenger of Crosswicks. His grandchildren: Kelli Rajeski and her husband Jason Archer of New Egypt, Jason Rajeski and his wife Justina of Columbus, and Patti Wood and her husband Gary II of New Egypt. Eight great grandchildren: Gary Wood III, Makayla Wood, Gage Wood, Kaydence Archer, Miabella, Payton, Victoria and Blake Rajeski. Richard also leaves behind many dear friends and his beloved bulldog Hailey. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral Services will be held 11 am Saturday, January 22 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122
Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Friends can visit with the family Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm and again on Saturday morning from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Masonic Services
will be held Friday evening with representation by the Crosswicks Fire Company. Interment will be in North Crosswicks Cemetery, Hamilton Township, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, 212 Trenton Rd, Browns Mills, NJ 08015 or to the Chesterfield Hose Company, 296 Bordentown Chesterfield Rd, Chesterfield, NJ 08515.
