Stockton’s Latham named NJAC Rookie of the Year in men’s track

Carson Latham, a Stockton freshman, was named the NJAC Rookie of the Year in men’s track & field.

Latham (Bordentown) collected two all-conference accolades as well.

Latham was an NJAC Second Team selection in the 4×100 relay, for which he ran a leg to help Stockton to a runner-up finish.

He also earned NJAC Honorable Mention in the 200m dash after placing third at the NJAC Championsh­ips (21.62 seconds).

He added the two all-conference­s accolades to NJAC Honorable Mention in the 4×200 relay during the indoor season.

Cunniff Gets All-America Nod and More

Lauren Cunniff (Hun) received Honorable Mention when USA Lacrosse Magazine released its All-America team.

The former Hun goalie was also named the MAC Freedom Player of the Week.

Cunniff led the Ducks to the 2022 MAC Freedom title over the weekend with wins over Misericord­ia and FDU-Florham.

She recorded 24 saves over both games. The senior goalie held a dominant Devil offense that scored 15 or more goals in 15 this season to just 10 goals in the title game.

Palmeri Selected NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year

Cole Palmeri (Hun) is the first Colby player to be selected as the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year.

He recorded a .982 fielding percentage behind the plate for the Mules and threw out 11 runners.

Palmeri ranked fourth on the Mules with a .302 average, knocking out 28 hits and tied for second among the league leaders with nine home runs.

Palmeri, who earned a spot on the All-NESCAC Second Team, was also perfect on the base paths, going 9-for-9 in stolen bases. He helped the Mules earn the No. 2 seed in the NESCAC East Division and qualify for the NESCAC Baseball Championsh­ip for the first time in program history and where Colby advanced to the semifinal round.

Locals Lead Rowan to NCAA Baseball Tourney

Ryan Mostrangel­i (Steinert) is batting .319 for Rowan and has a team-high 49 RBI as the Profs head to the NCAA Tournament, facing Mitchell in the opening round of the Annville Regional.

Marco Mannino (Northern Burlington), who has started 10 games for Rowan, is batting .350 and Chris Au (Robbinsvil­le) has a 1-0 mound record and Ryan Iovine (Rancocas Valley) has 2.38 ERA will be looking advance the Profs.
