Gaetano’s is much more than Cheesesteaks
Your favorite cheesesteak place actually serves up more than just cheesesteaks. Of course they have their award winning wings as well but during the summer months of backyard relaxing or lounging on the beach a hot sandwich or spicy wings don’t always fit the weather. Lucky for you, Gaetano’s takes their homemade, baked fresh daily rolls and piles on the meat; cold cuts that is.
Since they opened in 2005 the biggest seller, aside from the world famous cheesesteaks is their hoagies! Their Italian hoagie to be specific. They use Dietz & Watson meats and cheeses and have since the beginning for their Philadelphia taste and quality. To make an Italian they slice up Capicola, Genoa Salami, Sharp Provolone and Pepperoni and layer it all on the roll then top it with fresh cut lettuce, tomato, raw onion, a shake of oregano and a generous squirt of oil and vinegar. “There are actually people who just come for hoagies and never get cheesesteaks” according to owner Bill Hansen.
Aside from the Italian Hoagie, they offer an American with Ham, Salami and of course American Cheese and classics like Turkey and Ham. They also have a vegetarian hoagie made with fresh vegetables including mushrooms, sweet peppers and olives and a mixed cheese hoagie as well. They also offer specials such as their homemade chicken salad
or tuna (call for availability). All of them are finished the same way with the lettuce, tomato, raw onion, oregano, oil & vinegar. You can also opt to add some hot or cherry peppers or pickles, the other popular hoagie toppings or customize however you see fit.
They make a great addition to the cooler for a beach day, lunch in the park or a snack during sports games. So during the warm summer months stop by Gaetano’s located at 1280 Route 33, Hamilton (across from the Shop Rite) and cool down with a 7”, 12” or 17” hoagie!
