Capital City Area Black Caucus announces meeting

TRENTON >> The Capital City Area Black Caucus announced their next monthly meeting, which will take place on Saturday, February 25, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Greater Mt. Zion AME Church. The second meeting this year will be in honor of Black History Month.

This meeting will serve as the second time Mercer County Executive candidates Brian Hughes and Dan Benson address the Trenton area with the CCABC. Part one occurred during the January meeting. This portion of the forum will be a “Fireside Chat on the “Future of Mercer County”. Elsewhere on the agenda will be, a CCABC community recognitio­n ceremony for the Smith Family Foundation, the newly elected members of Trenton’s City Council, and 18 future Black leaders of tomorrow, Larry Traylor, Shaquille Sanderson, Shakespear­ecia Cadet, Pete Lewis, Shadura Lee, Kenny Bee, Athina Fassu, Eashwayne Haughton, Momolu Dorley, Palmer J. Richardson, Dan Smith, Yazminelly Gonzalez, Crystal Feliciano, Jasi Edwards, Austin Edwards, Sean Smith, Kyle Smith, and Larry Holman.

In a press release, CCABC Founder and Mercer County Commission­er Sam Frisby said, “February/Black History Month is an important time of the year in the Black Community and I am proud that CCABC will be talking about the future of the County as well as recognizin­g people who work hard for us in Trenton and Mercer County every day. This conversati­on and acknowledg­ment is timely and I want to encourage people to show up, be informed, and recognize our history, especially now.”
