Princeton trailed until Ryan Langborg scored with two minutes remaining. The defense then came up with key stops — the Wildcats didn’t score over the final 4:40 — as the Tigers tallied the game’s final nine points. … The win was Princeton’s first NCAA Tournament victory since defeating UNLV as a No. 5 seed in the first round in 1998. Its also came on the same week as the 27-year anniversar­y of the famous upset against UCLA that turned out to be the late Pete Carril’s final win. … Princeton beat Arizona despite a 4-of-25performa­nce from beyond the arc. It stayed in the game by winning on the glass despite a massive size disadvanta­ge and a defensive strategy that lured Arizona’s big men into taking midrange shots, while shutting down the rest of the team. … Tosan Evbuomwan led Princeton with 15points, his final free throw both icing the game and giving him 1,000career points. SCOUTING MISSOURI: The Tigers (black and gold) used a late second-half run to separate themselves from Utah Sate and win an NCAA Tournament game for the first time since 2010. Missouri has had a bad experience against a No. 15seed in the past when it lost to Norfolk State as a No. 2seed in 2011. … Under the direction of first-year coach Dennis Gates, the Tigers are among the highest scoring teams in the country. They rank 25th nationally in scoring offense (79.6points), 30th in field goal percentage (47.4%) and 74th in 3-point percentage (36.2%). … Kobe Brown, a 6-8, 250-pound senior forward, averages a teambest 15.9points and 6.3rebounds. Brown was one of four players in double figures against Utah State with 19points. The Tigers were led in scoring by D’Moi Hodge with 23points on 8-of-14shooting (5-for-10on 3s).
