POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymousl­y report crime informatio­n, call 4636205.

MAN SLEEPING ON STAIRWAY: Caller in the 1100block of Mulberry Street reported at 9:27 a.m. June 11 that a man was sleeping on a stairway. An officer responded and arrested an 18-year-old Ukiah man for a Mendocino County warrant.

MAN PASSED OUT IN CAR: Caller near Todd Grove Park reported at 9:46 a.m. June 11 that a man was passed out in a vehicle with his pants down. An officer responded and arrested a 25-year-old man for possession of drug parapherna­lia and violating a court order. He was cited and released.

CAMPERS NEAR HOUSE: Caller in the 100 block of Observator­y Avenue reported at 8:39 p.m. June 11 having an ongoing issue with people camping near his house. An officer responded and arrested three people for violating city codes, two for illegal camping and one for illegal use of a shopping cart.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: An officer responded to the 100 block of Oak Manor Drive at 1:43 a.m. June 12 for a report of a disturbanc­e and arrested Rocky Stark, 33, of Ukiah, on suspicion of domestic violence. He was booked into county jail. BURGLARY: Caller in the 100 block of South Orchard Avenue reported at 3:36 a.m. June 12 that a window had been vandalized. An officer responded and took a report of a burglary. ILLEGAL CAMPING: An officer contacted a suspicious person in the 1600 block of Airport Road at 8:19 a.m. June 12 and arrested a woman for illegal camping. She was cited and released. SUSPICIOUS PERSON: An officer contacted a suspicious person in the 200 block of East Gobbi Street at 8:56 a.m. June 12 and arrested Mark A. Beardslee, 46, of Ukiah, on suspicion of burglary, identity theft, violating his probation, failure to appear and driving under the influence. He was booked into county jail. STOLEN VEHICLE: Caller in the 1100 block of South State Street reported at 2:34 p.m. June 12 that a vehicle was parked in the ambulance driveway and the person was refusing to leave. An officer responded and arrested Seth Smart, 24, of Willits, on suspicion of vehicle theft. He was booked into county jail. SUSPICIOUS PERSON:

An officer on Lewis Lane at 7:46 p.m. June 12 arrested a 51-year-old Ukiah man for violating a state ordinance protecting waterways from being polluted. He was cited and released.

INDECENT EXPOSURE: Caller at the corner of Airport Park Boulevard and Talmage Road reported at 9:37 a.m. Saturday that a man near the car wash was masturbati­ng and refusing to leave. An officer responded and arrested the 30-yearold Ukiah man for indecent exposure and violating his probation. He was booked into county jail.

SHOTS FIRED: Caller at the corner of Highland Drive and West Mill Street reported at 10:55 a.m. Saturday hearing shots fired. An officer responded and reported not finding anything of concern. CAMPERS IN CREEK: Caller at the corner of Washington Avenue and Mulberry Street reported at 1:30 p.m. Saturday that people were camping in the creek bed. An officer responded and reported that the people left upon request.

CAT STRUCK BY CAR: Caller in the 1100 block of South State Street reported at 10:29 p.m. Saturday that a cat had been hit by a vehicle. An officer responded and moved the animal’s body to the side of the road for the streets department to pick up Monday.

Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper.
