Reopening of schools

The Ukiah Unified School District Board of Trustees will make the decision about how we will reopen schools at a special board meeting on Monday, July 13, at 6 p.m. Our board meetings are virtual and can be accessed live or at any time through the UUSD Live Youtube channel. Public comment is welcomed at our meetings and is limited to three minutes per speaker — please fill out a form by 5:30 p.m. if you wish to address the board.

Summer food distribution

Summer food distribution will take place on Wednesday. Food for 15 meals will be provided for any child 18 years or younger every Wednesday at one location,

Ukiah High School, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Food deliveries by bus will not take place over the summer.

We apologize for any inconvenience the long lines may have caused recently. There are now two serving lines instead of one, and the lines will move much faster.

Farmers to Families Food Box

The USDA is partnering with farmers, ranchers, food processors, distributors, and nonprofits to ensure that all Americans have access to the food they need during the COVID-19 national emergency. Thanks to this program, in addition to our regular food distribution items, families will be able to pick up a Farmers to Families Food Box with 20 pounds of pork, and 20 pounds of cheese. Please remember to wear a mask and practice social distancing when picking up food.

Call us at 707-472-5003 with questions. We hope you are having a fantastic summer, please stay safe and healthy and remember to read to your kids!
