POLICE REPORTS

DEBRIS FIRE: An officer responded to Home Depot on North Orchard Avenue at 3:34a.m. Sept. 3for a report of a debris fire in the storm drains and took a report of arson.

CAMPING CITATION: An officer responded to the 400 block of South Orchard Avenue at 6:17 a.m. Sept. 3 for a report of a man sleeping in front of a business and cited and released a 56-year-old Ukiah man for illegal camping.

FIRE: An officer responded to the Building Bridges Community Center in the 1000 block of South State Street at 10:32 a.m. Sept. 3forarepor­tofafirean­d arrested a 54-year-old man for “unlawfully starting a fire” in a bathroom. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

DRUG POSSESSION: An officer contacted a person behaving suspicious­ly at the corner of East Clay and South Main streets at 2:27 p.m. Sept. 3 and arrested a 29-year-old Willits man on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and drug parapherna­lia, and violation of his probation. He was booked into county jail. DRUG POSSESSION: An officer contacted a person behaving suspicious­ly in the 1100 block of Airport Park Boulevard at 8 p.m. Sept. 3 and arrested a Santa Rosa man on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and drug parapherna­lia, and violation of his probation. He was booked into county jail.

STOLEN RV: An officer responded to the 1400 block of South State Street at 8:14 p.m. Sept. 4 for a report of a stolen motorhome and arrested Kylee Petersen, 31, of Santa Rosa, on suspicion of vehicle theft, felony vandalism, driving a vehicle without a license and violating her probation. She was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

MAN ASKING FOR ALCOHOL: Caller at CVS on South Orchard Avenue reported at 8:36 p.m. Sept. 4 that a man in a wheelchair was asking customers to buy him alcohol and requested that he be asked to leave. An officer responded and counseled the man.

CAMPING CITATIONS:

An officer contacted two people in the 100 block of Talmage Road at 3:40 a.m. Sept. 5 and cited and released a Ukiah woman for illegal camping, and a Ukiah man for illegal camping and violating his probation. THEFT: An officer responded to the 1000 block of North State Street at 12:17 p.m. Sept. 5 for a report of shoplifter­s and arrested a 34-year-old Willits man for theft and violating his probation who was booked into county jail, and a 36-year-old woman for theft who was cited and released.

Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper.
