Raiders likely to have Jacobs, Brown, Abram vs. Colts

- Wy Jerry Mcionald

The Raiders have no intention of making it official, but indications are they’ll be facing the Indianapolis Colts with running back Josh Jacobs, right tackle Trent Brown and safety Johnathan Abram in the starting lineup.

If the trio is anywhere near 100 percent, it dramatically changes the look of a team that has lost two of the last three games and at 7-5 is a game behind Indianapolis (8- 4) in the wildcard race heading in to Sunday’s game at Allegiant Stadium.

Jacobs practiced for the first time Thursday after missing last week as well as a 31-28 win over the New York Jets with an ankle injury, which occurred on his final carry in a 43- 6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Brow n, who ha sn’t played since going the entire game on Oct. 11 against Kansas City, not only participated on back-to-back days, but was a full participant in practice and isn’t even listed on the daily injury report.

Abram, a safety and defensive leader, stayed at home along with Jacobs when the Raiders traveled to face the Jets. He has practiced both days this week.

While careful not to say outright Jacobs and Brown would play, offensive coordinator Greg Olson’s tone was optimistic.

“It’s good to have ’em both out there,” Olson said in a teleconference. “They look good in the roles that they played this week in practice and we’re hoping to get ’em up on Sunday.”
