Willits City Hall closed
On Dec. 22, the City of Willits announced the City Hall would close for deep cleaning “due to a positive cases of COVID-19.” According to City Manager Stephanie Garrabrant-sierra, two employees in the same family tested positive for the coronavirus and are currently in quarantine.
Another close contact of the employees is in isolation, however Garrabrant- Sierra stressed that there has not been an “outbreak.”
“An employee tested positive and protocol means everybody in contact must quarantine,” said Garrabrant-sierra.
City Hall was cleaned over the weekend by a professional service that uses natural but effective products, according to Garrabrant-sierra, who stated that the City of Willits values “the health and safety of our residents and
our employees, and hold these health considerations at the forefront of our operational decisions.”
She said all employees have undergone a COVID-19 test, and that the City is “just following protocol.” Most essential City services are still available, although staff members are working from home, and are limited while in quarantine. All utility payments and forms can be mailed or dropped in the City’s drop box located in front of the main entrance to City Hall.
As usual, residents are encouraged to call 911 in the case of an emergency. If a City-specific emergency takes place, residents may call the following departments:
Planning — 459-7124 Code Enforcement — 459-7122 Parks and Public Works — 841-7914 Water and Wastewater — 671-3185 General — (512) 496-4559 — Emergency only, please Police non-emergency line: 459-6122.
Garrabrant- Sierra reminded the public that although this pandemic has been a “real strain,” everyone can “take a breath” because the vaccine is on the way.
