The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymousl­y report crime informatio­n, call 4636205.

USING GRINDER IN CAR: Caller in the 1100 block of Mulberry Street reported at 12:33 a.m. Dec. 21 that someone in a dark car was “using a grinder or a tool inside the vehicle.” An officer checked the area and reported that the vehicle was gone.

PERSON WITH BAG OVER HEAD: Caller at Safeway on South State Street reported at 2:07 a.m. Dec. 21 being concerned about a person who was loitering and put a garbage bag over their head. An officer responded and the person left upon request.

NEIGHBOR MOVING FURNITURE: Caller in the 400 block of East Gobbi Street reported at 3:14 a.m. Dec. 21 that their upstairs neighbor had been moving furniture for the past hour and it was very loud. An officer called the complex and left a message for “on-call worker resolution.”

STOLEN VEHICLE: Caller in the 1000 block of North State Street reported at 11:52 a.m. Dec. 21 that a vehicle had been stolen. An officer responded and took a report.

CAMPER IN CREEK: Caller at the corner of Talmage Road and Rupe Street reported at 12:15 p.m. Dec. 21 that someone camping in a creek had left trash on his property. The caller requested extra patrols in the area.

CAR BREAK-IN: Caller at the corner of South Dora Street and Pomolita Drive reported at 3:11 p.m. Dec. 21 that two males broke into his car. An officer responded and arrested a 15-year-old Ukiah boy for tampering with a vehicle and resisting arrest, and a 14-year-old boy for resisting arrest, conspiracy and possession of cannabis.

PROWLER: Caller in the 800 block of Waugh Lane reported at 4 a.m. Dec. 22 that people were trying to get into her home. An officer responded and reported finding no problems at the residence.

VEHICLE BURGLARIZE­D: Caller in the 1200 block of Airport Park Boulevard reported at 9:44 a.m. Dec. 22 that a vehicle had been burglarize­d overnight. An officer took a report.

MAN LOADING GUN: Caller in the 600 block of Talmage Road reported at 11:57 a.m. Dec. 22 seeing a man loading a firearm and putting it in his waistband. An officer responded and reported that the man was gone.

DRUG POSSESSION: An officer contacted a person behaving suspicious­ly in the 400 block of South State Street at 3:27 p.m. Dec. 22 and arrested a 32-year-old Ukiah man for warrants and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

PURSE STOLEN: Caller in the 200 block of South Orchard Avenue reported at 8:23 p.m. Dec. 22 that their purse had been stolen from a shopping cart. The caller later reported that their purse and its contents were found.

VANDALISM: An officer responded to the 200 block of South State Street at 2:09 a.m. Dec. 23 for an alarm and arrested a 40-year-old Chico man on suspicion of vandalism. He was booked into county jail.

MAN NOT WEARING A MASK: Caller in the 1300 block of North State Street reported at 7:28 p.m. Dec. 23 that a man who was not wearing a mask was refusing to leave. An officer responded and the man left upon request.

FIRES IN CREEK: Caller in the 1100 block of Mulberry Street reported at 9:05 p.m. Dec. 23 that several people in a creek bed had fires going. An officer responded and reported that the fires were put out.

DOG ATTACKED: Caller in the 200 block of Irvington Drive reported at 12:13 a.m. Dec. 24 that a “black pitbull with no collar” attacked her dog. An officer took a report.

CAT BITE: An officer responded to the 1200 block o Airport Park Boulevard reported at 3:49 p.m. Dec. 24 and took a report of a cat bite. Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
