Hundreds of people vaccinated
Clinics held at hospital, Ukiah Valley Conference Center
Hundreds of Ukiah Unified School District employees received Covid-19 vaccinations Friday in one of at least two large events held in Ukiah.
One vaccination clinic at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center included Ukiah Unified School District employees, and Superintendent Deb Kubin said that by the end of Jan. 15, “more than 600 UUSD staff members will have received the Covid-19 vaccine, including nearly all UUSD staff members who wanted to receive the vaccine.”
Also on Friday, Adventist Health Ukiah Valley held a vaccination clinic, and announced on Facebook the day before that it “opened up some slots for walkins for persons 75 and older, and healthcare workers. (This is) only for healthcare workers who haven’t been vaccinated and persons age 75 and older.”
Earlier this week, Mendocino County unveiled its new “infographic” designed to keep the public updated on how many vaccines have been received and administered.
The first graphic was posted Jan. 11 and reported that Mendocino County Public Health had received 1,950 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and administered 1,080, leaving 870 available. The county had also received 500 doses of the Moderna vaccine, all of which had been administered, for a total of 1,580 people having been vaccinated as of Jan. 11.
The numbers were updated on Friday to reflect that now 1,620 doses of the Pfizer vaccine had been administered and only 330 remained available. Also, the county has now received 5,200 doses of the Moderna vaccine and administered 4,250 of them, with 950 still available.
As of Jan. 15, the county reports having vaccinated 5,870 peo

ple. However, the county also notes that the numbers of doses listed represent “only vaccines distributed directly to Mendocino County Public Health and does not include vaccines distributed directly to hospitals and pharmacies.”
Also on Friday, Mendocino County reported 21 new cases of Covid-19 for a total of 3,076, with 14 people hospitalized and no one in the Intensive Care Unit. The percentage of positive cases was nearly 7 percent at 6.59, and the average of cases per day was 37.29. There have been a total 31 deaths attributed to the virus.
