Police reports

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymousl­y report crime informatio­n, call 463-6205. VANDALISM: An officer responded to the 1100 block of Airport Park Boulevard at 1:42 a.m. Jan. 14 and arrested a Ukiah man for being drunk in public and a county warrant.

TRESPASS: An officer responded to the 600 block of Kings Court at 6:59 a.m. Jan. 14 and arrested a Louisiana man for resisting arrest. He was cited and released.

PULLING FIRE ALARMS:

Caller at an apartment complex in the 600 block of North Orchard Avenue reported at 8:51 a.m. Jan. 14 that someone pulling fire alarms. An officer responded and took a report. DUMPSTER DIVING: Caller in the 800 block of South Orchard Avenue reported at 9:14 a.m. Jan. 14 having an ongoing issue with people pulling stuff out of the Dumpsters and leaving trash all over. An officer responded and the person left upon request.

VANDALISM: An officer was flagged down by a citizen at the corner of South State and West Mill streets at 9:25 a.m. Jan. 14 and arrested a 31-year-old Ukiah man for vandalism, resisting arrest and violating his probation. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail. DOG IN HOT CAR: Caller in the 1100 block of South Dora Street reported at 12:50 a.m. Jan. 14 that a small dog was in a hot car. An officer responded and advised the owner.

WOMAN BANGING ON

WINDOWS: Caller in the 100 block of South School Street reported at 2:11 p.m. Jan. 14 that a woman was banging on windows and making threats. An officer responded and arrested a 44-year-old Ukiah woman for being drunk in public.

CAMPERS IN POST OF

FICE: Caller at the Post Office on South Orchard Avenue reported at 8:55 p.m. Jan. 14 that two people were camping inside the building. An officer contacted them and they left upon request.

VEHICLES BURGLARIZE­D: Caller in the 1000 block of

North State Street reported at 8:56 a.m. Jan. 15 that multiple vehicles had been burglarize­d. An officer took a report.

WOMAN MAKING

THREATS: Caller in the 100 block of South School Street reported at 1:39 p.m. Jan. 15 that a woman was making threats. An officer responded and the woman was admitted voluntaril­y for a mental health evaluation. ASSAULT: Caller at Safeway on South State Street reported at 3:55 p.m. Jan. 15 that she was assaulted. An officer responded and took a report.

MAN SELLING FRUIT

WITHOUT A PERMIT: Caller at Lucky on East Perkins Street reported at 4:42 p.m. Jan. 15 that a man was selling fruit without a permit. No officer was dispatched. DOG BITE: An officer responded to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley at 3:48 p.m. Jan. 16 for a victim of a dog bite being treated and took a report.

FIREWORKS: Multiple callers in the 700 block of Cindee Drive reported at 6:54 p.m. hearing either gunshots or fireworks. An officer responded and determined the noise had been from fireworks.

FRIGHTENED DOG: Caller in the 900 block of Marlene Street reported at 7:03 p.m. that the neighbor’s dog had broken through a fence and gotten “hung up on its leash” after being frightened by the fireworks. An officer responded and released the dog to its owners. Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant: all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
