A fitting description

- — Robin Sunbeam, Ukiah

Another perfect word to describe the Democratic Party, this one is courtesy of the author Daniel Silva via the Oxford English Dictionary, and the word is kleptocracy (klep’takrase) a ruling body or order of thieves.

How fitting.

Qualifications

We have recently had a national President who some doubted was qualified to hold the office. We are now having a gubernatorial recall election with a list of 48 candidates running against Governor Newsom for the privilege of being Governor of California. Below find a list of qualifications to hold the highest office in the State. Qualifications absent from this list is a test of SANITY. Also omitted from the list is a test on the Constitution.

I. Qualification Every candidate shall: A. Be a U.S. citizen. B. Be a registered voter and otherwise qualified to vote. C. File with the Secretary of State copies of every income tax return the candidate filed with the IRS in the last 5 years. D. Not have been convicted of a felony involving accepting or giving, or offering to give, any bribe, the embezzlement of public money, extortion or theft of public money, perjury, or conspiracy to commit any of those crimes. E. Not have served two terms in the office sought since Nov. 6, 1990.

I believe that every candidate for office should be given a 20-question test of the Constitution like the Driver’s Exam.

I believe that candidates for high office must be screened for psychopathy. A test for levels of socio-psychopathic characteristics based on the Hare Psychopathy Checklist-revised (PCLR) test was developed for such purposes by the research department of the University of British Columbia. Time to use these tests. Please, no more candidates unqualified by reason of insanity.
