ODERDOSE: UVFA crews were dispatched to the Motel 6 on South State Street at 5:42 a.m. July 28 for a report of an overdose.

FIRE: UVFA crews responded to Highway 101 between Gobbi and Perkins Street at 1:15 p.m. July 28 for a fire reported in the center divide.

FIRE: UVFA crews responded to a bridge over Gibson Creek near Kings Court at 8:22 p.m. July 28 for a report of a debris fire.

FIRE: UVFA crews responded to a field between the hospital and BaskinRobb­ins on East Perkins Street at 3:49 p.m. July 29 for a report of a vegetation fire described as being caused by a homeless encampment.

FIRE: UVFA crews responded to Highway 101 near Highway 253 at 6:30 p.m. July 29 for a report of a small fire in the center divide.

FIRE: UVFA crews were dispatched to the 600 block of Talmage Road at 2:17 a.m. July 31 for a report of fire.

FIRE: UVFA crews responded to Highway 101 near Talmage Road at 2 p.m. Sunday for a report of fire in the median.

FIRE: UVFA crews responded to Costco on Airport Park Boulevard at 6:57 p.m. Sunday for a report of a vegetation fire.

FIRE: UVFA crews responded to Highway 101 near Perkins Street at 10:19 p.m. Monday for a report of a fire under the overpass.

FIRE: UVFA crews responded to Highway 101 near the 1500 block of North State Street around 3:23 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a vegetation fire.

FIRE: UVFA crews responded to Highway 101 near Perkins Street at 2:51 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a vegetation fire in the median.

FIRE: UVFA crews responded to the 4200 block of North State Street around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday for a vegetation fire.

POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymousl­y report crime informatio­n, call 463-6205. SOMEONE WITH AX: Caller in the 500 block of Low Gap Road reported at 8:22 a.m. July 27 that someone was carrying an ax. An officer responded and reported that the person was “not threatenin­g anyone.” DOGS OFF-LEASH: Caller at Todd Grove Park reported at 8:24 p.m. July 27 that “multiple people” were in the park with dogs off-leash. A Community Services officer responded and contacted the dog owners, who “complied.” At 8:13 a.m. July 28, a caller reported that one dog was off-leash in the park. The CSO responded again and reported that all dogs were on-leash when he arrived. At 8:47 a.m. July 29 a caller reported that four dogs were off-leash. An officer checked the area but did not find any dogs off-leash.

THEFT OF WATER TANK: Caller in the 300 block of Hastings Avenue reported at 5:45 p.m. July 28 that a water tank had been stolen. An officer took a report.

FIREARM STOLEN: Caller in the 900 block of North State Street reported at 6:40 p.m. July 28 that a firearm had been stolen. An officer took a report.

ANGRY CUSTOMER IN DRIDE-THRU: Caller at Jack-in-the-box on Airport Park Boulevard reported at 7:05 p.m. July 28 that a woman who was angry over how long it took to prepare her food was refusing to leave. An officer responded and the woman left upon request.

FRAUD: Caller at Redwood Credit Union on South Orchard Avenue reported at 4:47 p.m. July 29 that someone was trying to cash a stolen check. An officer responded and arrested Jose M. Flores-castro, 32, of Fort Bragg, on suspicion of vehicle theft, identity theft, passing a fake bill, possession of a controlled substance and violating his probation. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper.
