Daily Digest
AIR QUALITY: The Mendocino County Air Quality Management District reported at 4 p.m. Thursday that “air monitors show particulate matter concentrations in the ‘Unhealthy’ air quality level for most parts of the county and ‘Moderate’ for the coastal areas. Current smoke impacts are from surrounding wildfires to the north and east of Mendocino County and the wildfires in Oregon. Smoke from these fires is mainly over the northern and inland areas of the county. Expect widespread haze and smoke impacts to continue for most of the county with improving air quality as we approach the weekend. Meteorological conditions are forecast to be calm NE winds changing to NW winds by mid to late Friday. This should bring some relief with the increase of an offshore breeze. While surrounding wildfires are active, expect unpredictable smoke impacts to air quality followed by multiple periods of some relief through the next few days.”
