UKIAH VALLEY FIRE AUTHORITY

OVERDOSE: UVFA crews were dispatched to the 1200 block of Airport Park Boulevard at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a 32-year-old man suffering an overdose behind Staples.

FIRE: UVFA crews were dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire on a property in the 10000 block of West Road in Redwood Valley that spread into hay piles. The fire was quickly extinguish­ed. FIRE: UVFA crews were dispatched to Denny’s on Pomeroy Avenue at 8:16 p.m. Thursday for a report of a fire behind the restaurant that was described as a “small cooking fire.”

UNRESPONSI­VE MAN AT STARBUCKS: UVFA crews responded to Starbucks on East Perkins Street at 8:50 a.m. Friday for a report of a “homeless man near the drive-thru exit lying face down, not moving at all.” The man was reported to have been sleeping.

UNRESPONSI­VE PERSON IN RV: UVFA crews responded to the 100 block of Talmage Road at 9:24 a.m. Friday for a report of an unresponsi­ve person in a motorhome and found the person deceased. More informatio­n was not immediatel­y available from the UPD.

POLICE REPORTS

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of Airport Park Boulevard at 10:22 p.m. Aug. 17 and arrested Jordan Winslow, 28, of Sonoma, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was cited and released.

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of North State Street at 2:23 a.m. Aug. 17 and arrested Amanda Griffin, 28, of Willits, on suspicion of driving under the influence. She was cited and released.

DUI: An officer responded to the intersecti­on of Low Gap Road and Brush Street at 3:24 p.m. Aug. 18 and arrested Joseph Briggs, 46, of Redwood Valley, on suspicion of driving under the influence and causing injury, as well as carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

GRAFFITI: Caller at Riverside Park reported at 6:55 a.m. Aug. 19 that graffiti had been spray-painted on the beginning of the paved path near the large oak tree. A Community Services officer responded and took a report.

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of South State Street at 1:52 a.m. Aug. 22 and arrested Fernando Alvarez-donatia, 27, of Argentina, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked into county jail. WATER TRUCK: Caller in the 1000 block of North State Street reported at 7:59 a.m. Aug. 23 that a water truck was getting water. An officer responded but the vehicle was gone.

Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper.
