POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymousl­y report crime informatio­n, call 463-6205. ILLEGAL CAMPING: Caller in the 700 block of South State Street requested at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 2 to speak to an officer about city code violations, and requested extra patrols for people camping. At 3:58 p.m., an officer conducting security checks in the area cited a 63-year-old Fort Bragg man for illegal camping.

NAKED MAN IN PARK:

An officer in the 1100 block of Low Gap Road reported at 11:46 a.m. Dec. 3 being flagged down by a citizen reporting that a “naked man” was in Low Gap Park. The officer checked the area but did not find him.

POT POSSESSION: The School Resource Officer cited and released a juvenile at Ukiah High School for possession of marijuana at 2:46 p.m. Dec. 3. THREATS: Caller at Ukiah Natural Foods reported at 4:53 p.m. Dec. 3 that a man was threatenin­g people with a stick. An officer responded and arrested a 48-year-old man for being drunk in public and violating his probation. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

CAMPERS IN RIVERSIDE PARK: Caller at 10:29 a.m. Dec. 4 reported people were camping near the Russian River in the park. The informatio­n was given to patrol units. At 10:15 a.m. Dec. 5, a caller reported that people were camping near the river. An officer responded and reported that the people were contacted and “advised to leave in 30 minutes.”

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Talmage Road at 3:53 a.m. Dec. 5 being driven by someone involved in a recent disturbanc­e call at a motel in the 1200 block of South State Street, and arrested Maria Acevedo-pardo, 31, of Chile, on suspicion of driving under the influence and evading an officer.

FIRE IN PARKING LOT: Caller in the 700 block of South State Street near Ukiah Natural Foods reported at 5 a.m. Dec. 5 seeing flames in an encampment in the parking lot. An officer responded and reported that a propane burner being used was turned off. At 7:35 a.m., a caller reported seeing people “with an open flame in the parking lot.” An officer checked the area but the people were gone.

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department regarding calls handled by the Fort

Bragg Police Department. DUI IN DRIVE-THRU:

Two callers in the 100 block of North Franklin Street reported at 12:37 p.m. Dec. 5 that a woman driving a red pickup in the credit union drive-thru was possibly intoxicate­d. An officer responded and arrested Paula Mcfadden, no age given, of San Francisco, on suspicion of driving under the influence. She was cited and released.

Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper.
