UKIAH VALLEY FIRE AUTHORITY

DEBRIS FIRE: Crews were dispatched to the 3000 block of Taylor Drive at 4:31 p.m. Dec. 20 for a report of an “escaped debris fire” that was “burning surroundin­g trash.”

POLICE REPORTS

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of East Perkins Street at 2:22 a.m. Dec. 12 and arrested Grant Burnham, 31, no city of residence provided, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was cited and released.

TOOLS STOLEN: Caller in the 1000 block of Maple Avenue reported at 7:50 a.m. Dec.13 that tools were stolen from the bed of a pickup truck overnight. An officer took a report. CAMPERS ON ROOF:

Caller in the 1000 block of South State Street reported at 9:40 a.m. Dec. 13 people had broken into the property and were camping on the roof. An officer responded and reported that the people were “counseled and moving along.”

TOOLS TAKEN: Caller in the 900 block of Alice Avenue reported at 10:07 a.m. Dec. 13 that tools had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

DEATH: An officer responded to the 700 block of Walnut Street at 9:04 a.m. Dec. 14 and took a report of a death.

THEFT OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER: Caller in the 1300 block of Yokayo Drive reported at 1:34 p.m. Dec. 15 that a catalytic converter had been stolen.

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle at the intersecti­on of Norton and North Main streets at 10:38 p.m. Dec. 16 and arrested Juan Romero-ortega, 38, of Corona, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

CAMPING CITATIONS: An officer contacted a person behaving suspicious­ly in the 500 block of South State Street at 11:54 a.m. Dec.17 and arrested a 63-year-old Fort Bragg man for violating the city’s camping violations. He was cited and released.

SHOTS FIRED: Caller in the 400 block of Oak Manor Drive reported at 7:39 p.m. Dec. 17 hearing shots fired. An officer checked the area and reported finding nothing of concern.

DUI: An officer responded to the 1000 block of North State Street at 8:43 p.m. Dec. 17 for a report of a driver unconsciou­s after a crash and arrested Christophe­r V. Woodward, 31, of Ukiah, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked into county jail after being transporte­d to the hospital.

Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper.
