The California Highway Patrol office in Ukiah needs volunteers in their RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) with a wide variety of duties offered. Assorted administra­tive assistance is needed in the office such as helping with fingerprin­ting as well as positions in the field such as in the school safety program, providing traffic control at collision scenes and transporti­ng vehicles. We have a large store, which takes a large crew to keep it well stocked with all the interestin­g items that are donated daily. Currently, we are closed on Mondays and we are hoping to reopen six days a week. The `Thrift' is our major source of revenue, providing the money needed to continue our mission of mercy — helping people to live with comfort and die with dignity. Thank you.” Farmers Market EBT Match: Contribute to making locally grown vegetables and fruits affordable for everyone. The Ukiah Farmers Market, on Saturdays 9-12, and Willits Farmers Market, on Thursdays 3-5, are looking for volunteers to assist with the Market Match booth. The volunteer would swipe EBT cards, count out tokens which increase EBT credits when spent at the market, explain how to use Market Match, and other miscellane­ous tasks as needed. NCO Volunteer Network:

NCO Volunteer Network places volunteers in rewarding positions throughout Mendocino and Lake County. Currently volunteers are needed at animal shelters, libraries, museums, community gardens, as drivers, at senior centers, helping with food prep, as well as in disaster services. Those 55-plus can also become a Foster Grandparen­t and be a help to kids. You choose where you want to volunteer. Enroll at volunteern­co. org, stating your interest. Mendocino Family and Youth Services: Looking for volunteers to be on the board. MFYS primarily supports The Youth Project through fundraisin­g efforts such as the Annual Youth Art Show, Jim Levine Legacy Scholarshi­ps and more. Members of the board are community members who have an investment in the youth of Mendocino County. Members meet once a month (by phone or in person) 10 months out of the year. Plowshares: wants you to join our team! We are in need of a Head Cook on Monday mornings from 8 to 10 a.m., and we always need subs that we can call when needed. Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County:

Volunteers being sought to socialize and groom dogs and cats; assist in fundraisin­g events; write grants; help with mobile adoptions; work on shelter upkeep; aid in computer data entry; foster puppies and kittens, or nursing mom cats and dogs.
