POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymousl­y report crime informatio­n, call 707-463-6205. VANDALISM: Caller in the 200 block of South School Street reported at 7:47 a.m. Jan. 23 that a lawn there had been vandalized. An officer took a report.

MAN ON ROOF: Caller in the 700 block of Myron Place reported at 8:48 p.m. Jan. 23 that an unknown man was on a roof. An officer responded and arrested Cameo L. Lima, 27, of Ukiah, on suspicion of domestic violence. She was booked at Mendocino County Jail.

DOG WELFARE CHECK: Caller in the 1100 block of Mulberry Street requested at 7:24 a.m. Jan. 24 that the welfare of a dog in a car be checked. An officer responded and reported that the dog was “seized and taken to the animal shelter.”

TRESPASS: Caller in the 1100block of North State Street reported at 8:21 a.m. Jan. 24 that people were setting up camp behind a building. An officer responded and reported advising the group to leave. At 3:33 p.m., the caller reported that the group was still there. An officer responded and arrested a 46-year-old Ukiah man for violating city camping codes. He was cited and released.

DEAD CAT: Caller on Betty Street reported at 8:41 a.m. Jan. 24 that a dead cat was on the sidewalk. The streets department was notified. On Jan. 26 at 2:09 p.m., a caller on Betty Street reported that a dead cat was there. They were told that streets employees would be picking it up.

ASSAULT: Caller at Pomolita Middle School requested assistance with a reported assault at 12:51 p.m. Jan. 25. An officer responded and reported that the incident was “not as reported and the school (would be) conducting an internal investigat­ion.”

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle at the corner of Low Gap Road and North Bush Street at 2:21 a.m. Jan. 26and arrested Jesus Nava-sandoval, 33, of Kern County, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked at the county jail.

DEATH: An officer responded to Willow Terrace in the 200block of East Gobbi Street at 11:53 a.m. Jan 26for a requested welfare check on a resident and took a report of a death.

CAMPING CITATIONS: An officer contacted someone in the 100 block of Talmage at 1:43 a.m. Jan.27 and cited the 23-year-old Ukiah resident for violating city camping codes and violating their probation; at 7:50 a.m., an officer contacted people in the 200block of East Perkins Street and cited two Ukiah men for illegal camping: a 28-year-old and a 52-year-old. They were cited and released.

FIGHT AT UKIAH HIGH: An officer responded to Ukiah High School on Low Gap Road at 8:59 a.m. Jan. 27for a report of a fight and arrested four boys on suspicion of battery, two 14-year-olds and two 15-year-olds, who were charged and released.

• Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper.
