NEW COFFEE SHOP IN REDWOOD VALLEY

Testa Vineyards opens second location

- By Kasandra Martinson Brooks

Testa Vineyards Coffee and Wine Shop is now open daily in Redwood Valley at the renovated Blacklock's shopping center, located at 9001 N. State St., Redwood Valley.

Testa Vineyards now has two locations in the heart of Mendocino County. Their tasting room that our community has come to know and enjoy is located at their Home Ranch in Calpella, where their family has been farming and making wine since 1912. This beautiful location with the pond view is now a wine club exclusive site and will continue to be enjoyed for years to come for wine club gatherings and private events.

Their new location, Testa Coffee and Wine Shop, is located just 2.7 miles north of their Home Ranch, directly off Highway 101 in Redwood Valley. In addition to serving their family wines daily, they have now added coffee to the menu. Testa is proudly serving local baked goods from Schat's Bakery, Black Oak Coffee, Kemmy's Pies, Mama Jama's soups and breakfast burritos from Food Depot.

Their locally sourced menu is always evolving. Enjoy their hand-crafted wines by the glass, in a family style tasting, or grab a bottle to go. You can also bring your laptop to get some work done with a latte and free Wifi. This is a wonderful new local hangout in the valley, a gathering place for our community to come together and enjoy the simple moments with friends and family.

“My family has been working together for over 110 years, farming the vineyards, making great wine and life-long friends along the way,” said Maria Martinson, owner and winemaker of Testa Vineyards. “We love making wine, it's in our blood. My kids wanted to bring coffee into the mix and that was the best idea ever! Coffee and Wine! Our new space in Redwood Valley is something special for our neighborhood, a space for our community to enjoy. A place for everyone to be proud of, and a great place to meet your buddies for a cup of joe!”

The Martinson family of Testa Vineyards revived the historical Redwood Valley Blacklock's building that Crockett and Addelle Blacklock originally built in 1956. They spent the past year-and-a-half bringing life back to the 67-year-old building, making everything old new again while honoring the history and tradition that the building once was.

“When we bought the building we never once thought of changing its name,” added Martinson, “We all remember `Blacklock's Antique Mall' and we wanted to honor that.”

With Testa's Simply Black and
