The Union Democrat

The need for good leadership in government

-

To the Editor.

As the Union Democrat continues to try painting as dismal a picture as possible of the health of Tuolumne County in their COVID-19 coverage, another ridiculous article came out on Friday, July 10. The information is given that two more cases have been diagnosed in Tuolumne County.

At the same time we see that 40 of the 60 cases so far have recovered. We also see that a lot more testing is being performed which would naturally lead to some infections being discovered that otherwise may have not been reported. The most amusing part of the article was a statement by the interim county health officer about the two new cases. She found this to be dramatic.

I looked up the population of Tuolumne County in 2019 and it was 54,478. If you do the math, and use all 60 cases even though 40 have recovered that is 0.001% of the population. Give this woman a reality check on what is dramatic. I have had it with the dramatization of COVID-19. Don Nessl
