Support for Brandon

To the Editor:

Jaron Brandon has my support for Tuolumne County Supervisor of District 5. I have walked door to door with Jaron in Jamestown, and was impressed with the way he treated people from all walks of life with dignity and respect. He also listened intently to their concerns and answered any of their questions.

Recently, I read his bio and platform on-line and was even more impressed by his experience, vision, and ideas to actualize this vision. His love for, and belief in, this community is the thread that runs throughout the platform. He cherishes our history, but realizes that unless we create an environment where young people and families can build a life, we will not have a viable future.

He knows that it is critical to secure broadband internet, affordable housing, and living-wage jobs. He sees the connection between our wonderful community college and preparing employees for the small businesses and industry that is suitable for this area, and will boost our anemic economy. One of my favorite plans he has is to initiate monthly town hall meetings to “bring you into the process.” He wants to hear and discuss the ideas and concerns of the people in his district on a regular basis. How refreshing.
