Blatant deception

To the Editor:

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris legally and decisively won the 2020 election. Trump and his lawyers including Giuliani continue to falsely claim to the public “massive voter fraud” across the nation, yet one by one Trump's lawsuits are being dismissed by the federal courts because there is just no evidence.

There is an important issue that needs to be brought to the public's attention, and that is the blatant deception by Trump and his lawyers. In all of Trump's lawsuits, there is no language of “massive voter fraud.” Matter of fact, just the opposite. In the lawsuits, they specifically say “this is not a fraud case.” “Massive voter fraud” is not in the lawsuits because lying in a courtroom is a crime, therefore Giuliani and lawyers could be charged with perjury, or sanctioned, or disbarred. So, you can lie to the public, but you better not lie in a courtroom.

So, what is this lawsuit about? It started with seven claims, but dropped to a single claim by Giuliani, “equal protection.” Their claim; two voters (Republican voters it so happens) were “denied the right to vote.” The reality — these two voters did not submit their ballots in the states “secrecy envelopes,” so according to election law, the votes could not be recorded.

Trump and Giuliani in this lawsuit sought to throw out millions of Pennsylvania voters' ballots because of the not so smart actions of two voters. So, this is Trump and Giuliani's “massive voter fraud.” Hard to believe this claim made it into a courtroom. Justifiably, Federal Judge Matthew Brann of the Middle District of Pennsylvania dismissed the case.
