Longtime Sonora resident Charles Wanamaker passed away Nov. 19 in Modesto at the age of 58. He was born May 31, 1962, in Mountain View to Edward and Mary Lou Wanamaker and worked in constructi­on for 15 years.

Charles was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He had a kind and gentle soul. He was a selfless person and always cared for others before himself. Charles could always put a smile on your face by cracking a joke or just making you feel better. He will be missed greatly by his family.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Tonya Wanamaker, and daughter, Alexandra Wanamaker. He is survived by his children, Dylan, Dakota and Chace Wanamaker; mother, Mary Lou Cole, and step-father, Mike Cole; siblings Sheila Kirschner, Debi White, Toni Bryson and Michael Wanamaker.
