The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

TUESDAY

9:25 a.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A loud bang and a car alarm were heard on South Washington Street, and employees of a bank exited the building because of the noise. An officer checked the area and questioned people but was unable to locate the source.

10:36 a.m., reckless driving — A man said a vehicle pulled in front of him by a stoplight and the person gestured toward him and stopped in the middle of the roadway on Sanguinett­i Road.

11:38 a.m., controlled substances — Someone said a man with facial hair and wearing jeans and a sweatshirt was behind a business since the day before and, when he woke up, he smoked an unknown substance in a pipe. The party requested that the man leave the area, and officers responded and turned the man over to probation.

12:30 p.m., warrant arrests — A bald man with a long gray beard and wearing a black Tshirt, flannel shirt and jeans, acted strangely while standing in the middle of Morning Star Drive. He was cited and released for two outstandin­g warrants and advised to stay out of the roadway.

1:47 p.m., theft — A woman said an unknown person took a backpack containing valuables out of her vehicle while she was in a business on Sanguinett­i road.

2:03 p.m., theft — An unlocked vehicle at an auto repair business on Stockton Road was broken into and the radio was stolen.

2:03 p.m., vandalism, property damage — Someone said a vehicle parked next to their car left a large dent in the door and did not leave a note. An officer responded and determined there was no collision and no suspect informatio­n.

2:32 p.m., any civil problem — A man said he located a trailer that was stolen from him three years ago on Mono Way.

3:53 p.m., parking — Someone said a disabled, white work truck with a rack and a bucket underneath to catch leaking fluid was parked for over a week at a business on North Stewart Street. An officer located the owner who said the vehicle would be towed away.

3:58 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — An officer was flagged down by the Crossroads Shopping Center for a man who was drinking from a whiskey bottle near a business on Sanguinett­i Road. The officer located the man, who was not in possession of a bottle but had been drinking. The man left the area.

4:16 p.m., weapons violations — A Department of Justice denial letter was received at a business on South Washington Street.

5:36 p.m., lost, found property — A women’s black wallet was found at a business on South Washington Street and was booked for safekeepin­g.

7:06 p.m., any civil problem — A man said a man stayed at his house and took items. An officer spoke to the man and advised him of the ramificati­ons of selling property for drugs, and the man said he will apologize and that they would soon be separating.

7:52 p.m., controlled substances — A man wearing a gray-and-black hoodie took a hand cart full of items from a business on Mono Way, got into a white van with others and left the area. An officer out with the vehicle could not identify the theft suspect but arrested another occupant for an outstandin­g felony warrant and the vehicle was towed.

The Sheriff's Office did not provide its daily report or booking log for Tuesday.

12:05 a.m., San Andreas — A woman refused to leave a Mountain Ranch Road property.

8:29 a.m., San Andreas — Criminal contempt occurred on Calaverita­s Road.

8:44 a.m., Valley Springs — A suspicious person on Highway 26 was issued a citation.

9:27 a.m., San Andreas — A disturbanc­e occurred on

Mountain Ranch Road.

10:09 a.m., Burson — A theft occurred on Messing Road.

11:54 a.m., Burson — A burglary occurred on Burson Road.

2:08 p.m., Copperopol­is — A disturbanc­e occurred on Buckboard Drive.

5:02 p.m., San Andreas — Criminal contempt occurred on Calaverita­s Road.

6:33 p.m., West Point — Someone in a parked vehicle yelled at others on Highway 26.

10:24 p.m., Douglas Flat — A burglary occurred on Highway 4, and the person was gone on arrival of law enforcemen­t.

12:51 p.m., San Andreas — Donald Robert Luft Jr., 55, of the 6000 block of Buckskin Place, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, transporti­ng, etc., controlled substance, manufactur­ing/ importing/ sale/possession of shuriken and a misdemeano­r charge of possession of unlawful parapherna­lia following an arrest on Foothill Court.

11 a.m., San Andreas — William Short, 46, of the 400 block of Parkwood, Manteca, was booked on suspicion of conspiracy to commit crime and revocation of command supervisio­n, following an arrest on Highway 49.
