Sonora man arrested on child porn charges
A Sonora man was arrested on suspicion of possession of child pornography last week after a search warrant was issued at his Crystal Falls Drive home.
Tyler Thomas Hudson, 37, was booked into Tuolumne County Jail on Feb. 8 following the arrest at his home on the 21100 block of Crystal Falls Drive.
Hudson has since bonded out of custody, according to Vinelink, a website that tracks custody logs in California jail and prison facilities.
Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputy Niccoli Sandelin said in an email that detectives from the Sheriff’s Office served the search warrant following an almost month-long investigation into the alleged child pornography.
He said the case was under investigation and no additional details were available.
Sandelin did not provide responses related to whether the victim or victims were local, their ages or their genders.
Sandelin said the investigation was initiated in mid-january following a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The ICAC “is a national network of 61 coordinated task forces representing over 4,500 federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies” involved in discovering and prosecuting child abuse on the internet, according to their website.
Hudson was booked into the jail at 9:32 a.m. Feb. 8 on a felony charge of possession or control of matter depicting a minor engaging/simulating sexual activity. His bail was set at $20,000.
He is described by the Sheriff’s Office in the arrest log as a group home worker.
