The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

9:40 a.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A woman on Soulsbyvil­le Road said she received a “strange” phone call from a woman in regard to her stolen vehicle from a few months ago. CHP was contacted, and they checked the address given and located the vehicle.

9:47 a.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — A woman in a light-colored top, jeans, hat with shoulder-length hair bought a pack of cigarettes and “flipped out,” cussed and threatened to assault a person on Mono Way.

2:01 p.m., theft — Two men shoplifted from a business on Mono Way and drove away.

3:46 p.m., theft — A store owner said he chased someone who stole a longboard from a Mono Way store.

6:44 p.m., assault — A woman said her Greenley Road neighbor’s boyfriend assaulted her and punched her friend in the nose and her nose bled.

7:52 p.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — Someone said a man screamed, yelled “strange things” and paced back and forth in front of a vehicle in a parking lot of a Sanguinett­i Road business.

8:52 p.m., animal complaint — Someone said there was a “dying squirrel” at the top of Summit Avenue.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

3:58 a.m., Sonora — A woman said she thought someone was squatting at night at her grandmothe­r’s Phoenix Lake Road house.

7:47 a.m., Sonora — Mail was stolen in the night from a box on Barron Ranch Road.

8:38 a.m., Sonora — An assault occurred on Big Hill Road, and an arrest was made.

9:46 a.m., Sonora — A realtor said someone set up a camp on a property listing on Wildcat Ridge Road.

11:56 a.m., Jamestown — An explosion occurred inside of a building on Jamestown Road near Wigwam Road and smoke came out of the building.

2:49 p.m., Groveland — A fight occurred on Powderhous­e Street.

10:07 p.m., Twain Harte — A trespass occurred at a church on twain Harte Drive.

12:03 a.m., Columbia — Devon Nathaniel Hensley, 20, of an unknown address, was booked on suspicion of evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety, vehicle theft, theft or extortion of a motor vehicle and vandalism of $400 or more and misdemeano­r charges of hitand-run causing property damage, driving with a suspended license, drug possession, and possession of drug parapherna­lia after an arrest on the 23200 block of Woods Creek Way.

10:15 a.m., Sonora — Joseph Manuel Delarosa Jr., 36, of the 16100 block of Big Hill Road, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant after an arrest at his home.

4:22 p.m., Sonora — Alexander Jacob Bradford-mendenhall, 32, of the 500 block of South High Street, was booked on suspicion of receiving known stolen property and conspiracy to commit a crime, after an arrest at his home.

7:12 p.m., Sonora — Robert Bryan Gregory Jr., 36, of the 1600 block of Chapala Way, Modesto, was booked on suspicion of force or assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm likely to cause great bodily injury after an arrest on the 200 block of Greenley Road.

9:43 p.m., Groveland — Jorden James Gaestel, 35, of the 13300 block of Clements Road, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury, after an arrest at his home.

CALAVERAS COUNTY WEDNESDAY

8:30 a.m., Valley Springs — Tools were stolen on Nove Way.

11:44 a.m., Valley Springs — Fraud occurred on Dunn Road.

3:26 p.m., tamarack — Someone said a person walked on private property on Alpine Vista.

7:20 p.m., Valley Springs — Vandalism occurred on Highway 26.

6:40 p.m., Vallecito — Hubertus Kempf, 66, of the 2000 block of Highway 4, Vallecito, was booked after an arrest on Highway 4 and Batten Road.

11:20 a.m., Valley Springs — Jose Feliciano Escarcega Barajas, 33, of Modesto, was booked on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale, keeping a place to sell a controlled substance, conspiracy to commit a crime, and a misdemeano­r charge of cultivatin­g more than six marijuana plants after an arrest on Southworth Road.

12:05 p.m., Valley Springs — Rene Guadalupe Redondoort­iz, 23, of the 2900 block of North 81st Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona,, was booked on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale, keeping a place to sell a controlled substance, conspiracy to commit a crime, and a misdemeano­r charge of cultivatin­g more than six marijuana plants after an arrest on Southworth Road.

8:45 a.m., Valley Springs — Yen-hsiang Yang, 30, of the 5000 block of Mccauley Road, Valley Springs, was booked on suspicion of plant/ etc. marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, and keeping a place to sell a controlled substance after an arrest at his home.

1:35 p.m., Valley Springs — Steven Bellamy, 45, of the 300 block of South Central Avenue, Lodi, was booked on suspicion of vehicle theft, receiving known stolen property over $950, a warrant for manufactur­e/sale/possession leaded canes or batons, and a misdemeano­r charge of giving false identifica­tion to specific police officers after an arrest on Freedom Way and Double Springs Road.

2:20 p.m., valley Springs — Amanda Jean Jory, 30, of the 13000 block of Grassland Road, Lodi, was booked on suspicion of receiving known stolen property after an arrest on Freedom Way near Double Springs Road.
