COVID-19 tracker Tuolumne County’s case rate drops to new low since November
Tuolumne County had one new COVID-19 case on Tuesday as the daily rate of new cases declined to 4.1 per 100,000 people, down from 7.9 per 100,000 the previous week.
The new case rate was the lowest for the county since the second week of November, when the rate was 4.4 per 100,000 per day.
To move from the current red tier to the less restrictive orange tier, the county’s daily case rate would need to dip below 4 per 100,000 for three consecutive weeks.
Tuesday’s single new case was identified as a male younger than 18.
There were 10 active cases ontuesday, down from 14 the previous day, and one person remained in the hospital due to the virus.
The county has tallied 3,995 total coronavirus cases since the pandemic began, with 2,579 community cases and 1,416 cases among inmates at Sierra Conservation Center state prison outside of Jamestown.
A total of 59 people in the county have died since the start of the pandemic early last year.

tested: Five days after travel or close contact with others outside of your household; as soon as possible if experiencing symptoms; and/or every 14 to 28 days if regularly working with the public.
