Barbara Jane Jackson
1936 — 2021
Sonora resident Barbara Jane Jackson passed away on April 6, 2021, at her home. She was 85.
Barbara and her husband, Stanley, retired to Columbia in 1986. After her husband’s passing in 1997, Barbara remained in Columbia until 2006 when she moved to the Central
Valley to be closer to her family, however, she always loved Tuolumne County, which led her to move to Sonora in 2019.
Barbara was a member of the Columbia Fire Women’s Auxiliary for 10 years and was active in TOPS for many years, as well as serving as a Pink Lady at Sonora Community Hospital. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by her children, Janelle Ott, Keith Jackson and Suzete Sorritelli; her grandchildren, Nicholas Stanley Jackson, Zoe Osborn, Elijah Thompson, Spencer Jackson, Logan Jackson, Alex Sorritelli, Zachary Sorritelli and Scarlet Sorritelli; and her three goddaughters.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home in Sonora. A chapel service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 16 at Terzich and Wilson, followed by a graveside service at Columbia City Cemetery. Any remembrances may be made to the Humane Society of Tuolumne County.
