Tuolumne County added 35 new cases of COVID-19 ontuesday, while Calaveras County added 32.
None oftuolumne County’s new cases were inmates at Sierra Conservation Center in Jamestown. There were 291 active cases intuolumne County and 18 Covid-positive individuals hospitalized.
New cases intuolumne County were identified as one boy under 12; one girl and one boy between 12 and 17; five women and three men between 18 and 29; two women and four men in their 30s; two women and three men in their 40s; one man in his 50s; three women and three men in their 60s; and three women and three men in their 70s.
Tuolumne County’s twoweek rolling average of new cases each day per 100,000 people was 49.7 ontuesday, among the highest of all 58 California counties.the case rate over the same period for vaccinated individuals was 13.5 and for unvaccinated was 75.
Three oftuolumne County’s new cases ontuesday were fully vaccinated.
There have been 62 vaccinated individuals and 555 unvaccinated individuals who have tested positive since May 24, when the county began reporting the vaccination status for each new case.
The number of so-called “breakthrough cases,” meaning fully vaccinated people who catch COVID-19, was about 0.2% of the 23,827 people in the county who were fully vaccinated as of Tuesday.
Six of the 62 fully vaccinated cases have required hospitalization to date, compared to more than 35 unvaccinated cases since May 24. All 73 county residents who have died from the virus since the start of the pandemic were unvaccinated.
Calaveras County does not provide gender, age, or vaccination status for new cases.
