Rugged individualist
To the Editor:
I've had it with the government telling me what I can and can't do. They've taken away my liberty, and I want it back. So, starting tomorrow, I won't stop at any red light unless I darnwell want to. If I see a car coming from the other direction, I might — might — decide to let him pass, or I might just decide to go right on through. That's my right; I know it is because it's written right there in the Constitution.
Same thing with these shots and masks. Where does the Constitution say that I have to get a shot that some bozo says will save my life, or that I have to wear a mask that “the media” says will keep me or somebody else from getting sick? If there really is some crazy virus out there — and my sources say that's all fake news — what do I care? I'm healthy and that's all that counts. I'm looking out for me.
If I do get sick from this “virus,” the hospital will take care of me. I know they will because they have to. That's the law. It's my right to get the treatment I need.
And if some jerk decides that it was his right to go through that intersection on a green light and runs into me, and I end up needing to go to the hospital, the hospital doesn't have the right to say “no” to me because I'm an American and pay taxes.
You see, the Constitution gives me the right to do any doggone thing I want. I don't have to think about anybody else — what would be in the best interest of “society,” right? I'm an American. I live in the land of the me and the home of the selfcentered.
