Nan D. Hobbs

1933 - 2021

Nan Hobbs was born into a large family in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, on Nov. 13, 1933. After she married Jay Hobbs in August 1951, Jay and Nan moved to California and settled in Tuolumne County, where they have lived ever since.

Nan was a homemaker and raised three daughters. She loved flowers, especially lilacs, and lilac was her favorite color. Nan also did lovely embroidery work and enjoyed making sets of embroidered dish towels that she gave as gifts. Nan was a 35+ year member of TOPS, making many longtime friends there, and she enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society

She delighted in her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Nan loved watching baseball and was an enthusiastic fan of the San Francisco Giants. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed.

Nan is survived by her husband of 70 years, Jay Hobbs, of Sonora; her daughters, Cathy Calef (husband Dan), Renee Hobbs and Tracy Marquette ( husband Brian); as well as granddaughter Kelly Marquette MacDonald (husband Shane); and great-grandchildren Keelen and Lila.
