The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

9:23 a.m., trespass/loiter — A man in a dirty white shirt and tan pants slept behind a business on Pesce Way and left after officers arrived.

12:59 p.m., animal complaints — A woman said she had a feral cat trapped on the porch of her North Norlin Street home and wanted it to be transporte­d to Tuolumne County Animal Control. An officer determined the trapped animal was a skunk and provided options to the woman.

4:11 p.m., traffic violations — A man in an early 2000s blue Nissan SUV fell asleep in the vehicle, blocked traffic on South Stewart Street and was gone before an officer arrived.

4:51 p.m., controlled substances — A man nodded off in a vehicle while the engine was running and was arrested on Stockton Road.

6:16 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A woman said she saw naked people having sex in an older beige vehicle parked on Crooked Lane. An officer responded and found the vehicle was occupied by one person who was legally parked and not committing any crimes.

7:18 p.m., municipal code violations — A welfare check was requested for a man with no shirt and black pants who was lying on the ground between a business and a parking lot and was unresponsi­ve when a woman tried to wake him up.

8:11 p.m., theft — A shopper was arrested for shopliftin­g and trespassed from a business on Sanguinett­i Road.

8:40 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A woman said her video surveillan­ce recorded a man who tried to enter her vehicle on South Poplar Street.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

6:24 a.m., Twain Harte — A man said his neighbors on Jupiter Drive and Italian Bar Road started an open fire and kept it going after he asked them to put it out.

7:49 a.m., Columbia — There was a fire on the Calaveras side of the Parrotts Ferry Road bridge.

8:10 a.m., Sonora — People slept in a white car and a white pickup on Robin Ridge Road.

10:15 p.m., Twain Harte — Someone at an RV park on Highway 108 said their brother withdrew $170,000 from their bank account.

10:24 a.m., Sonora — Lewd acts occurred with a child on Morningsid­e Drive.

10:26 a.m., Columbia — Someone acted strangely, barked at students, was “making no sense,” and appeared to be intoxicate­d on the Columbia College campus on Columbia College Drive.

10:28 a.m., Sonora — Equipment was vandalized and gas was stolen on Mono Way.

10:44 a.m., Sonora — Someone said there were two very large marijuana grows on two properties on Wards Ferry Road.

10:49 a.m., Sonora — A woman in her 30s, with dark hair up in a bun, glasses and red workout pants grabbed two boxes of shoes at a business and got into a vehicle driven by a man on Mono Way.

11:16 a.m., Sonora — Two catalytic converters were stolen from a dealership on Mono Way.

2:00 p.m., Columbia — Mail was found on the side of Gunsight Road.

3:07 p.m., Groveland — A woman said a man and a woman fought in a parking lot at a business on Main Street, and she and an employee got hit.

3:42 p.m., Sonora — Someone said they saw and heard a person in an attic fall through the ceiling at a business on Fifth Avenue.

3:52 p.m., Strawberry — A report was taken for a firearm that was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Clarks Fork Road.

4:36 p.m., Columbia — A man said someone came over with a “bunch of guys” and they hit his brother on Lower Quail Mine Road.

6:51 p.m., Jamestown — A fight led to an arrest at the Goodwin Dam Recreation­al Park at Tulloch Road and Highway 108.
