Support for Zack Abernathy
To the Editor:
It's interesting that S.O.S., an international call of distress, can also represent some related issues facing the voters this year. “Save our schools” and “save our students” are a couple of distress calls related to another S.O.S., superintendent of schools.
Most Americans believe that our education system is on the wrong road, but they don't know how to put it on the right road headed to education rather than indoctrination. The only solution seems to be abandonment of public schools for private schools, but that is often a choice many parents cannot afford. There is another way, but it will not happen overnight.
It took years for the teacher unions and far-left ideologues to get control of our education system. It will take years for the parents and families to take it back. When the left “Bolsheviks in Democrat clothing say your children don't belong to you — don't belong to parents — they mean it. For them, school is the surrogate parent, the true parent, the place where children are formed to be what they desire and need from them into adulthood.” (Paul Krause, “Why the Education War Matters.”)
We must grasp control of our education system so that the very fabric of our country, tied tightly with the iron thread of family, is not destroyed. Family is the great bastion of power and freedom against the state. So, where do we start? By electing those who share the values that were once the backbone of our education system.
We need a different road, a new direction, a new path, that will ultimately lead to the destination of a real education, not the dystopian disaster of indoctrination.
Help put Tuolumne County on the road to destination education. Elect a new S.O.S. Zack Abernathy for superintendent of schools.
