Reelect Ryan Campbell

-

To the Editor:

Four years ago, our county was in deep trouble. Our yearly budget was short by several million dollars — every year — year after year. There was no money to fix the roads, no money to create fire breaks, and no money for after-school programs or the library. We even had to cut back on the Sheriff's Office and our county police force. Four years ago, our supervisors were saying, “We're just going to have to get used to less money, fewer police officers, and bad roads.”

Four years ago, Ryan Campbell was elected supervisor. Two years ago, Ryan became chairperson of our Board of Supervisors. Since then, Ryan has brought in state money. Now, our roads are getting fixed. Our juvenile detention center was almost empty and costing the county over $1 million per year. Now, Ryan has partnered with other counties to fill and fund our juvenile detention center. Ryan's careful work has put our county on the path to fiscal responsibility.

Thanks to Ryan, we have the benefits of fiscal responsibility. Our roads are being fixed. We are replacing our 30-year-old fire engines. Trees and brush have been cut and the fire danger along our county roads is reduced. With COVID in the rearview mirror, we have the money to restart afterschool programs and to fund the library.

Ryan Campbell gets things done. When Sullivan Creek flooded, Ryan was quickly on site. When Sonora was on fire, Ryan was quickly on site.

Ryan has earned our trust and overwhelmingly deserves to be reelected. Marvin Keshner
