To the Editor: I implore the public to view the upcoming superintendent of schools election race as an opportunity to ensure the continued best interest of the child by casting a vote in favor of Cathy Parker. Cathy Parker is a tireless advocate for our nearly 5,900 publicly educated school-aged children in Tuolumne County.

Superintendent Parker is a trailblazer with reference to procuring millions of dollars in grants which directly enhance educational opportunities for all students. These grants are competitively awarded, and as such, require expert submission. Cathy Parker is our expert.

Superintendent Parker ensures 11 locally controlled school districts and one charter school maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines, while ensuring they remain fiscally solvent. This enhances protections for continued local control. The practical knowledge, educational code knowledge, leadership qualities, and technical expertise this requires is incalculable. Cathy Parker is our expert.

Superintendent Parker is deeply respected at the state level and works around the clock to both champion and advocate for rural California. This requires direct competition against much larger jurisdictions who have more fiscal resources and manpower. As such, our educational advocate and voice for the children must be loud, well reasoned, articulate, fiscally knowledgeable, and fiercely competitive. This requires an expert. Cathy Parker is our expert.

As such, and in the best interest of the child, please vote Cathy Parker for superintendent of schools.
