- Barbara Elaine Gill

1933 — 2022

Barbara E. Gill, 88, passed away May 4, 2022, at Adventist Health Sonora.

She was born in Alameda on Aug. 11, 1933. She was the great-greatgrand-daughter of Captain James Brown, founder of

Ogden, Utah, and the Morman Church. She lived in San Leandro, and moved to Detroit, Michigan, in 1944-46. She graduated from San Leandro High School in 1952.

Barbara married John M. Gill in 1953, and she designed their home in Montclair, California. In 1965, they moved to Sonora after she designed and they built home No. 2 while starting Gill's Electric Co. In 1980, they opened Sonora RV Center.

Barbara loved traveling in their RV motorhome and belonged to Kings Highway Club. Her favorite thing to do with her family was to make memories because they are forever. She was a leader of TOPS and several community events. Barbara was very wellliked by everyone.

Barbara, “Baba,” is survived by her daughter, Lezli, and son-in- law, Carl Collins, of Cedar Ridge; a brother, Jack M. Brown, of Manteca; five grandchild­ren, Jason M.gill, of Crescent City, Leigh and Justin M. Gill, of Kentucky, Noelle and Jerrin M. Gill, of Washington, Jessica and Michael Cook, of Stockton, and Richard and Devon Sutro-blair, of Brentwood; and 11 great-grandchild­ren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Gill, in 1998, and her son, John M. “Bud” Gill, in 2007, both of Sonora.

Terzich & Wilson Funeral Home is taking care of her arrangemen­ts. At her request, no services will be held.

MCEVOY — Donna D. Mcevoy, 69, died Friday, May 6, at her home in Jamestown. Sierra Cremation and Burial Service is handling arrangemen­ts.

NUNES — Lawrence M. Nunes, Jr., 74, of La Grange, died Sunday, May 8, at Adventist Health Sonora. Sierra Cremation and Burial Service is handling arrangemen­ts.

NYLANDER — Carol Garaldine Nylander, 89, of Twain Harte, died Monday, May 9, at Adventist Health Sonora. Cremation is planned, and inurnment will be at Carter's Cemetery in Tuolumne. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangemen­ts.
