- Union Democrat staff

The Mother Lode Fair is currently accepting still exhibits and junior livestock fair entry forms until this Friday, organizers said in a news release.

“We are encouraging entries for competitive still exhibits in divisions that include arts and crafts, photography, fine arts, gardening and horticulture, preserved foods, baked foods, clothing and textiles, handcrafts, spinning and weaving, quilting, floriculture and floral arrangements, in both adult and junior departments,” the release said.

Community organizations in Tuolumne County can enter a competitive feature booth (adult and junior departments).

Feature booths must follow the fair’s theme this year of “Sew It, Grow It, Show It” and should acquaint the public with a specific aspect of their program/organization.

Junior livestock exhibitors are required to complete their annual YQCA certification prior to Friday and must include a copy of their bill of sale or hatch receipt for all market animal entries.

Exhibitor handbooks and entry forms are available for download at https://motherlodefair.org/exhibitor-info/. A limited number of handbooks are available in the fairgrounds office at 220 Southgate Drive, Sonora. Entries can be submitted by paper form or online at motherlodefair.org.

More information is available on the fair’s website, by email to livestock@mlfair.com, or by calling the fairgrounds office at (209) 532-7428. Questions about junior livestock should be directed to Livestock Superintendent Kim Helmbold.

This year’s fair runs from June 30 through July 3.
