The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

THURSDAY

9:57 a.m., reckless driving — Someone said an elderly female driver almost struck four people in safety vests as they walked through a crosswalk on Sanguinett­i Road. An officer located the woman inside a store and issued a warning to her.

12:43 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A man went to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office on Sunset Lane and said someone at Woods Creek Rotary Park tried to kill him in a dispute over a stolen motorcycle. The man refused to leave the lobby, but his claim was unfounded.

6:10 p.m., traffic accident — Someone on Mono Way said they saw a small white car hit another vehicle, and they followed the person to the parking lot of an eatery where an officer responded and took a report.

11:41 p.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — A man said his neighbor was “doing some sort of constructi­on” in the backyard, saying he heard a loud power saw. An officer contacted the neighbor, who agreed to stop for the night.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following: THURSDAY

9:10 a.m., Jamestown — An exhaust system was stolen from a vehicle at a business on Jamestown Road.

10:55 a.m., Twain Harte — Two women bought $18,000 worth of gift cards at a business on Tiffeni Drive.

11:13 a.m., Columbia — A man on Five Mile Creek Road said someone cut the lock on the gate to his shop and stole some soapstone.

1:14 p.m., Twain Harte — A structure was stolen from a business on Twain Harte Drive.

5:15 p.m., Sonora — A vegetation fire was headed towards several structures on Blue Bell West.

6:57 p.m., Tuolumne — A wallet was stolen at a business on Tuolumne Road North and when it was found, the cash was missing.

8:27 p.m., Jamestown — A purse and a phone were stolen at a business on Main Street.

9:00 p.m., Sonora — A pedestrian stop led to an arrest at Highway 49 and Mill Villa Road.

9:30 p.m., Jamestown — A verbal fight at an eatery led to an arrest on Main Street.

6:50 a.m., Sonora — R.J. Jackson, 39, of the 900 block of Murado Circle, was booked after an arrest on Phoenix Lake Road and Bear Cub Drive.

12:29 p.m., Sonora — Roy Allan Chandler, 36, of the 21000 block of Sawmill Flat Road, was booked on suspicion of willful infliction of corporal injury, after an arrest on Mono Way. 9:55 p.m., Jamestown — Jesse Craver Newton, 30, address unknown, was booked on suspicion of grand theft over $400, after an arrest on Preston Lane.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

4:28 p.m., Valley Springs — A report was taken for a suspicious person on Baldwin Street and Treosti Place.

7:11 p.m., Valley Springs — A report was taken for assault on Quail Oaks Road.

8:06 p.m., San Andreas — A report was taken for a suspicious person on Treat Avenue.
