The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

MONDAY

10:13 a.m., trespass/loiter — A man with a pit bull sat near the drive-through and asked for money from patrons of a cafe on Old Wards Ferry Road.

10:39 a.m., vandalism, property damage — Someone flagged down an officer on Greenley Road to report that some people threw chairs and a table off of a deck and down a hill at a nearby business.

11:44 a.m., municipal code violations — A woman on East Lyons said she could see smoke from her residence. Officers and the fire department responded, and a citation for a false alarm was issued.

2:52 p.m., animal complaints — An injured or sick squirrel was brought to Sonora Police Department, but it died before being picked up by someone from wildlife rescue.

5:23 p.m., animal complaint — Someone on Cemetery Lane said their gray-andwhite Chihuahua got out and hadn’t yet returned.

7:02 p.m., animal complaint — A report was taken from a woman on Hill Street who said she was attacked by her neighbor’s pit bull and another dog, causing injuries to her legs, hands and feet.

7:31 p.m., municipal code violations — A man with an open container who loitered in front of a business on Sanguinett­i Road was issued a formal trespass notice and placed under arrest.

7:45 p.m., traffic violation — A man on South Washington Street said three people wearing masks in a white vehicle followed him, brandished a small firearm, and threw water bottles, sticks and flashlight­s at him. The vehicle was located and an arrest was made.

7:54 p.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — Someone at Courthouse Square said a man in a blue vest and tan pants yelled at an elderly man and attempted to start a fight. He then walked off, punched things and left the area.

The Sheriff’s Office logs for Monday were delayed until Wednesday, a spokespers­on for the agency said.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

1:28 p.m., San Andreas — A West Saint Charles Street property was burglarize­d.

1:42 p.m., Valley Springs — A Hogan Dam Road property was burglarize­d.

5:27 p.m., Valley Springs — A boater on Hogan Dam Road whose engine wouldn’t turn over was given assistance.

6:15 p.m., Mountain Ranch — A citation was issued for a noise complaint on Potteroffs Road.

1:38 a.m., Avery — Arthur Herman Castillo Jr., 50, of the 4000 block of Meko Drive, Camp Connell, was booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed dirk or dagger and misdemeano­r charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of unlawful parapherna­lia and multiple misdemeano­r warrants, after an arrest at Highway 4 and Avery Sheep Ranch Road.
