Betty Eloise (Lemons) Mccolloch

1933 — 2023

Betty Eloise Lemons Mccolloch was born to Fred and Alice Lemons in Oakdale, California, on March 6, 1933.

When she was 3 years old, her family moved to Sonora where she attended Curtis Creek Elementary and Sonora Union High School. As a young bride, she married the love of her life, Robert Lee Mccolloch. They had two children, Robert “Bob” Mccolloch Jr. and Betty Jane Mccolloch Garcia. Betty enjoyed her home and especially her beautiful flowers, where she and Bob would together make their yard and home a showcase. Betty also worked outside the home, starting in the kitchen at Sonora Community Hospital. She was a great cook at work but especially at home. She later went to school to become an X-ray technician, continuing on at Sonora Community then to Tuolumne General Hospital until she retired.

Besides gardening, she also loved her artistic hobbies, most notably the beautiful wedding cakes and dried flower wreaths that she made for friends and family, a treasured gift for many. She had a tremendously kind, loving and giving heart.

Betty is survived by her daughter and sonin-law, Betty Jane and David Garcia; grandchildren, Jake (Leanne) and Jason (Tamara) Lucido and Justin Mccolloch; great-grandchildren, Cleo and Alex Lucido; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Alice Lemons; her husband of 59 years, Bob Mccolloch; her son, Bob Mccolloch Jr.; and sisters Beverly Botfield (Al), Janice Mccolloch (James) and Lois Moore (Joe).

At Betty’s request, no services are planned.

HERRMANN — Former Sonora resident Sandra “Sandy” Lee Herrmann, 71, of Fair Oaks, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, in Roseville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Faith Lutheran Church, 4000 San Juan Ave., in Fair Oaks. A burial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road in Dixon. East Lawn Mortuary in Sacramento handled arrangements.
