Lorna Belle (Dillon) Wick

Longtime Sonora resident Lorna Belle (Dillon) Wick passed away at her home on March 8, 2023. She was 82 years old. She was born on May 15, 1940, in Compton, California.

Lorna was a self-taught western artist, traveling across the western states, selling her art and showing at the Prix De West Show in Oklahoma for many years. She was active at her home church, St. Patrick’s in Sonora, doing many projects for the church including painting of the stations of the cross and restoratio­n of the beautiful glass windows. She was very interested in genealogy, tracking her family roots for many generation­s as well as working closely with the local genealogy group in Sonora. More than anything, she loved to be at home in the garden, with her loved ones surroundin­g her.

Lorna is survived by her husband, Valentine “Bernie” Wick; her three children, Katherine Dunkak, William H. Dunkak, III, and Victoria Heifner; her six grandchild­ren, Amanda Cogburn, Amelia Macy, Jamie Stewart, Emily Idleman, Jesse Dunkak and Astrid Heifner; her six greatgrand­children; and her two brothers, Steve Gier and John Dillon.

Lorna was preceded in death by her parents, Wally Dillon and Ethel Paulson, and brother Frank Dillon.

A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, March 17, at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home, 225 E. Rose Ave., in Sonora, with a service to follow at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 116 Bradford Ave., Sonora.

Jackson St., Sonora, followed at 12:30 p.m. by a celebratio­n of life at the Sonora Elks Lodge, 100 Elk Drive, in Sonora. Terzich and Wilson Cremationf­uneral Home handled cremation arrangemen­ts.

PERRINE — Ruth G. Perrine, 87, of Columbia, died Monday, March 13, at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. Terzich and Wilson Cremation-funeral Home is handling cremation arrangemen­ts.
