Fox doubles down on propaganda

-

To the Editor:

“Hell hath no fury like a voting machine scorned.”

Dominion Voting Systems has sued Fox News Network $1.6 billion for defamation for airing false claims its machines flipped votes from Trump to Biden in the 2020 election.

The lawsuit reveals Fox News hosts and executives knew Joe Biden fairly beat Donald Trump, according to internal emails and text messages through discovery.

Despite the breaking scandal, Fox News has not changed its policy of airing false propaganda. In fact, Fox News host Tucker Carlson has responded by launching an all-out attack on the truth.

Handed some 44,000 hours of Jan. 6 security footage by Speaker Kevin Mccarthy, Carlson aired a prime-time video diminishing the violence of the Jan.6 riot at the U.S. Capitol that caused multiple deaths and injured 140 Capitol Police.

Carlson featured footage of Trump supporters milling around the Capitol, exploring the building after rioters had smashed windows and forced their way in.

He characterized Trump’s followers, besides some bad apples, as peaceful, calling them “sightseers,” not “insurrectionists.”

Said Carlson: “The video record does not support the claim that Jan. 6 was an insurrection. In fact, it demolishes that claim. It proves beyond a shadow of doubt Democrats in Congress lied about what happened that day. They are liars. That is conclusive.”

Carlson’s team had access to footage of rioters ramming their way through Capitol police, smashing doors and windows, and occupying Capitol congressional chambers, but chose not to show it to Fox viewers.

He suggested federal agents somehow tricked Trump’s “patriots” into rioting. He still cannot identify any federal agents working for the so-called “deep state.”

Carlson didn’t air police and rioters engaged in hours of combat. About 326 people have been charged with assault with deadly or dangerous weapons with 60 pleading guilty so far.
