TUOLUMNE COUNTY
The Sonora Police Department reported the following:
THURSDAY
6:29 a.m., burglary — A man and woman stole two propane tanks from a propane cabinet behind a South Washington Street business and a roll cart from the neighboring post office.
8:07 a.m., hazardous situation — A caller said a man in a blue jacket was throwing rocks at vehicles driving on Mono Way near Sanguinetti Road. The man denied throwing rocks when contacted by an officer.
9:39 a.m., theft — A caller said an opioid prescription they were expecting to be delivered never arrived at the post office.
1:12 p.m., traffic accidents — A Banner Drive resident said their daughter was in a car crash in front of Sonora High School, and the other driver involved followed the daughter home.
3:25 p.m., warrant arrests — A man with a goatee and tattoos was arrested on eight outstanding warrants after an employee of a Sanguinetti Road business requested that he be trespassed from the store.
4:42 p.m., traffic accidents — A caller who witnessed a hit-and-run accident between a blue sedan and a white Chevy Tahoe on North Shepherd Street said it appeared the victim of the crash was pursuing the other motorist.
8:57 p.m., burglary — A woman said she found a handle broken off the garage door at her deceased father’s home on East Lyons Street. An officer checked the residence and found nobody there.
9:38 p.m., trespass/loiter — A slender man with blondish-brown hair briefly entered a Sanguinetti Road store from which he had been formally trespassed, then went outside and pushed around shopping carts. The man was arrested for trespassing.
The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:
THURSDAY 1:24 a.m., Columbia — Someone saw a man in bushes at an apartment complex on Columbia Village Drive.
7:32 a.m., Sonora — Someone said a sinkhole was forming on the Highway 49 end of Rawhide Road.
10:24 a.m., Twain Harte — Someone attempted to break into a Twain Harte Drive residence.
11:22 a.m., Jamestown — Someone said O’byrnes Ferry Road was collapsing.
11:24 a.m., Jamestown — Someone was assaulted at a Chicken Ranch Road business.
1:50 p.m., Sonora — Someone trespassed at an Allison Way mobile home park.
3:34 p.m., Sonora — A caller said a man was in the middle of Highway 108 at Mono Way creating a hazard.
4:28 p.m., Twain Harte — A Fuller Road property was burglarized.
5:16 p.m., Tuolumne — A caller said there were aggressive dogs on Pine Street.

6:48 p.m., unknown — Patrick Eugene Prest, 54, of the 11000 block of Bridal Veil, Groveland, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, kidnapping, assault with a firearm and conspiracy to commit a crime after an arrest at the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Patrol Division offices on Cedar Road
