The Week ’s guide to what’s worth watching
Big Vape: The Rise and Fall of Juul
They looked like flash drives, were packed with nicotine, and were supposedly a safer alternative to cigarettes. But Juul electronic cigarettes turned out to be just as unhealthy and devilishly addictive. Worse, regulators found evidence that the company intentionally marketed them to minors, compounding a public-health epidemic. This searing documentary tells the story of the company’s rise and fall. Wednesday, Oct. 11, Netflix
Frasier
Kelsey Grammer’s endearingly pompous Frasier Crane is back, in a revival series that follows the beloved 1990s character from Cheers as he moves from Seattle back to Boston, in part to be closer to his son, Freddy, who dropped out of college to become a firefighter. Sadly, Niles and Daphne won’t be making the trip, but Bebe Neuwirth is returning as Frasier’s ex-wife, Lilith, Jack Cutmore-Scott will play Freddy, and Jess Salgueiro and Nicholas Lyndhurst also join the cast. Thursday, Oct. 12, Paramount+

The Burial
Miss the courtroom comedy movies of old? The genre appears alive and well in this entertaining sophomore effort from director Maggie Betts (Novitiate), featuring peak performances from co-stars Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones.
Foxx shines brightest, as a flashy personal injury lawyer who’s hired by a humble funeral director (Jones) to keep the family business out of the grip of a corporate behemoth. Jurnee Smollett and Alan Ruck co-star. Friday, Oct. 13, Prime
Lessons in Chemistry
Here’s a sound equation: Take an upbeat, wildly popular novel about a brilliant chemist who becomes a cooking-show host and give Brie Larson the lead role in a series adaptation. The Captain Marvel star is wonderful as Elizabeth Zott, a 1950s chemist who’s on the verge of a research breakthrough when she’s fired from her lab by hidebound male colleagues. Chance puts her in front of the camera on a cooking program that she turns into a platform for empowering other women. Friday, Oct. 13, Apple TV+
