The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. at the Bentonville Public Library, 405 S. Main St. Marcia Connors, a professional genealogist for over 10 years, will present a program covering sayings such as “Once in a Blue Moon” and legal terminology such as “relict.” The public is welcome. The Bella Vista Community Concert Band will perform at the Blowing Springs Park, east of U.S. Highway 71 on Mercy Way, at 7 p.m. The performance is free to the public. Visitors can also enjoy a picnic supper, provided by Bella Vista Sunshine Rotary Club, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Proceeds from the supper will be donated to non-profit organizations around the area. The Bella Vista Community Band is dedicated to providing live music for area residents and opportunity for those who play or have played band instruments to participate in music making. Their schedule runs through September.

The Bella Vista Fire Department is dedicating Fire Station No. 4. The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at 1639 Forest Hills Blvd.

Dr. Donald Steinkraus, professor of entomology at the University of Arkansas, will offer tips for identifying and photographing Ozarks flora and fauna in “Selfies with Stinkbugs,” from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale. The program is part of the museum’s Shiloh Saturday series for families. The first 20 youth participants will receive a free disposable camera. The Shiloh Museum is located at 118 W.
