Bella Vista Traveling Library

The Bella Vista Public Library now has a home-bound delivery service. The library will provide materials to any resident of Bella Vista who is confined to their home or convalesce­nt center due to illness, injury or disability. Anyone interested in this service can call the library at 479-855-1753 or email program coordinato­r Argie Willis at awillis@bellavista­ar.gov.

Library After Dark: Chocolate Olympics

Friday, June 24, from 6-7:30 p.m., put your sweet tooth to the test in these confection­ary challenges. Those ages 11 and up are invited to participat­e in the Chocolate Olympics.

Summer Reading: Light Up the Night glow show

Juggling, Hula Hoops, and fabulous lights! This is going to be a wonderful show. You don’t want to miss the amazing talents and Glow-in-the-dark amazement of the Light Up the Night Show on Thursday, June 30, at 6:30 p.m.

Summer Reading: Yoga for Kids

Come Thursday, June 23, at 2 p.m. to stretch and get moving with yoga at the library. Yoga Story from Bentonvill­e will be here to keep your body as active as your mind this summer.

Color My World

This creative and relaxing event is a way to unwind. Studies have shown that adult coloring is a great way to relieve stress. Color My World meets every Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Legomania

Come for Legomania every first Saturday at 10 a.m. The next event is Saturday, July 2.

Silly Songs and Stories

Silly Songs and Stories story time meets every Friday at 10 a.m. Bring a preschoole­r and join this fun group for stories and crafts. Be sure to come this week to listen to a good story.

Knitters and Crocheters

Knitter and crocheter wannabes are invited to brush up on their skills and learn some new techniques from 1 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday. Novices will be guided by experience­d knitters and crocheters. Participan­ts may bring their current projects or start a new one. Attendees must bring their own supplies.

Encore Books

The Friends of the Library’s used book store is open six days a week during regular library hours. Everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children’s books, paperbacks, biographie­s, health and wellness topics and more. All proceeds of this ongoing fundraiser support the library. New books are added almost daily.

Rocket Languages

Rocket Languages are now offered through the website. This language-learning service offers online courses for 15 different languages. All that is needed is a library card to access it.

Freegal Music

The library now has Freegal Music. This service, available through the library website, allows patrons to listen to and download music for free. Using a library card, patrons can access this cool, new service. Patrons can stream three hours of music each day and can download three songs a week that they can keep.

Check Out a Kindle

Kindle Paperwhite­s and Kindle Fires are available for checkout to patrons in good standing. Each device is loaded with a specific genre of book (sci-fi, bestseller, nonfiction, western, inspiratio­nal, etc.) and may be checked out for three weeks.

June’s displays are provided by Alice Tidwell. Anyone interested in displaying a collection should contact Rebecca at 479-855-1753.

Floral Arrangemen­t

June’s floral arrangemen­t was designed and provided by Jan Grimm. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron enjoyment.

Hours of Operation

Regular library hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, with weekend hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday-Saturday. The Bella Vista Public Library is located just east of Town Center off Lancashire Boulevard at 11 Dickens Place. For more informatio­n on programs and services, call 479855-1753.
